When I clean lenses I can tell when they get superlatively clean because all resistance in moving the Q-tip on the glass surface seems to disappear. Looking at the lens obliquely in a bright light also shows zero smudges, streaks, or spots on a very-clean lens. You can achieve this with IPA, but it might take 2 or 3 cleanings to accomplish. ROR is simply a better cleaner.
Are there other cleaners as effective? Possibly. Out of the 20 or thirty different cleaners I’ve used through the years, though, I haven’t seen one. And it’s a lot easier than mixing your own. By the way, I have no commercial interest in ROR/V-Vax–I just think it’s a superior product.
